A Pint with the Irish

I just got back from having a couple of pints (Hoegaarden~white beer from Belgium, yummy!) with the Irish lasses from my hostel. They are so great, they leave tomorrow, I'm so bummed! We were at the Tunnel Top Bar for their happy hour, 3 dollar pints! So cheap! Then we walked up to Sam Wo's for some chinese food. Oh man is that stuff good! We had Chow Fun with Beef and Brocolli, Chow Mein, Kung Pao, Mongolian Beef and Shrimp Fried Rice. All for 30 dollars. can  you believe it?! And we were all stuffed. That was 4 of us girls and their friend Todd who lives in Berkeley and came to join us. I didn't get photos of the food as we were all eating it too fast!

Sunday I had a trip to Yosemite. Those are easy for me now except the pick ups. I did alright but still got out of town late. I'm learning now how to adjust what we do so that we can get to the valley quicker. I'm learning!!

I've stopped taking photos in the park too, which seems weird to me. I'm usually trying to nap while I'm there so that I can handle the drive back home. Its 4 hours each way so it's alot of driving. I should be snapping photos of and dating the Yosemite Falls. Its been changing every time I see it. More water, less water, its absolutely beautiful right now!

This week I have a pretty mellow schedule. Early mornings but only office work. I hope to have a Y2 this weekend. Thats an overnight hotel trip to the park. Yeah!

Oh the news! Today I chose to walk to the T train from the office by way of the Just for You cafe on 22nd. I stopped in to see about a menu to go but ended up sitting down for lunch. I told the man I had heard of but never had a Beignet. So he brought me one to try for free! Hot out of the oil they are basically a doughnut with powedered sugar but when served hot they are really tasty! I had some fish tacos as well. Yum!

On the way into the city we stopped at the Montgomery station and we sat and waited and waited and finally the driver said "I can't go for a while as there was an earthquake earlier and the lines were messed up" now whether he meant the actual lines of the electricity or something I don't know but either way I hustled off the train and got back up above ground!! I mean whoa! Forget about it, this city is too scary to have a big quake! I do not want to be here when the big one hits this city!!
