Just a Quick Post

I just wanted you all to know how much I've learned in the last few years of being a vagabond. Today I laid out all of my stuff for the move to California. As previously mentioned I was having trouble planning for many varied scenarios, but I've overcome the challenge!

I AM actually getting better at light packing. Everything I'll need to survive "basically" for the summer I've gotten packed and I've had to sit on no bags to get them zipped. I didn't even have to expand any bag to make more room. Whoa! I am good!

Earlier today I checked the map for the bus routes to all my hostels and the office, also which ones take me closest to my favorite eating spots. Oh I can't wait! It's a good thing I'll be walking so much this summer! My first few stops...
Mr and Mrs Miscellaneous (gourmet ice cream!!), Swans Oyster Depot (seafood!!), Chow (pancakes!!), Tacolicious (tacos and tequila!!)

Its going to be great fun. And my friend Chris is faithfully sending me suggestions to add to the list. First thing on his list this summer, I'll be trying a Maple Bacon Latte from Pirate Cat Radio Cafe. #12 Folsom bus will take me there.

Anyone wanting some packing tips...apparently I can teach you something, because I finally learned how to do it myself! Yippee!
Murphy was helping with the maps. Big fuzzy helper...argh!

I'm Mobile Uploading Now!

I'm not sure how this works. Trying my first mobile upload. Technology may be the death of me :-)

I did it!! It worked! Now I can snap a photo of an amazing thing, and send it here so you all can live the moment with me! Isn't technology wonderful?! Not!

I'll admit I feel pretty smart right now though!

Back into a backpack

Its Monday morning. I've just finished packing up my stuff and making hostel reservations for San Francisco.

I'll have three different scenarios to prepare for in the coming month. Living and working out of a hostel, moving to another hostel, flying back to Idaho for a week and then return to the city, check into another hostel and then move into an apartment. Then comes things like packing for camping, packing for life in a nice neighborhood and getting around day to day without carrying a TON of stuff with me all the time. Sheesh! You'd think I would be so good at all that?! Ha!

Do I take the extra stuff along in the car and "store" it at the office or fly back to SF with it and lug it around the city until I can settle in?! I don't think so! From the BART station its all uphill so I think I'll stick to a backpack!

Oh the walking I'll do in the coming weeks! But just think, finally life gets more challenging and interesting and I'll have something to blog about! And I'll be playing foodie tetris again so stay tuned for the good food!!
