Why is it after each visit with Joe, Barbara and Leigh I'm using titles like "rendered duck fat" "eating my way across the city" things like that? Ha! That does make me laugh.
I'm back in Idaho now. I had a pretty uneventful flight home and then yesterday morning had my hair cut. It had been a long time. It feels so much better now. Amazing how that works isn't it?!
Today I got up and visited my storage unit and found all my "normal" clothes. Wow, I have too much stuff...feeling the urge to purge really bad! That is usually the case when I live with so little for months at a time and then come home and find I don't need most of what I've got packed. While I was sorting and trying stuff on I was fighting with that guilty feeling that it was time to get out there and get a job, so now I'm dressed and ready to hit the streets (so to speak). My plan for the immediate future is to find a paying job here in Boise and then continue the tour guide job hunt in the mean time. No sense sitting around waiting for people to call when I could at least be making some bucks.
No word yet from the Hawaii people. I'll call them and see what the deal is soon. Maybe they use "island time"?
Yesterday I took the day to really sit and think about what was to come. What do I want to do? Where do I want to go (that one is a list you realize!!) all of the options require money, which I've none of. I need to learn a language to be more employable for international tour companies. So, what I came up with was, just get a job in Boise, work my butt off, stay with my poor parents (again!!) and save money. Its the cheapest way to go. Hawaii will cost me rent and a car, a move anywhere will cost me naturally, so this is a good move. Now, when someone calls and says "hey we've got this great job for you in Pennsylvania" then you know I'll be on the next flight out! But for now. I'm off to job hunt.
I've had little communication with my last group. They either didn't get my emails or are just busy and have not responded yet. Its really pretty sad how attached I get to them and then off they go back to their lives. I always forget that other people actually work hard for a living! Imagine that!
I found a magnet that sums it up pretty well..."I live in my own little world, but its okay, they know me here!"
LOL that's a good magnet :) Can't wait to see you!
