Now in Wales! Its really alot like being in England, rains, windy today, really green and lots of trees and stone buildings. Though the signs here are in Welsh and then English. Which drives some English crazy for some reason. I say, its Wales why shouldn't they speak Welsh? Call me crazy.
We left Gloucestershire around 11 am on Sunday. Drove almost straight through to Pembroke. We didn't have great directions to Rob's cottage so we drove all over the country side and round and round we went before Robert finally pulled over and I got out (as their token American) and asked for directions. I finally found this really nice old lady to help me. She had a really different accent. I think she speaks Welsh and then some English.
We finally found Rob and this terrific cottage with huge gardens and all sorts of great things. Its called Forge Cottage because their is a huge room off the house with a forge in it. It must have been used by the farmer who owned all of this. Lyserry Forge Farm is the name. This was Forge Cottage apparently for obvious reasons. Who knew!
After we got here and had tea we got changed and went to Pembroke and put the Rib in the water. That is the phone of the family on that black and orange boat. We took it down teh river and had a really fun cruise, its goes really fast!! We stopped at a pub near the end of one estuary and had dinner and a pint. When we came home we decided to drive past the cottage and onto the beach! It was great, its not far from here and all roads head to the ocean at some point. Though the military own the prettiest chunk of this land and that is really annoying. You can only drive through the firing range on open days and then there is a walk in one direction (not around the point) otherwise you drive to these really terrific beaches! That is the sun shining through the clouds on the water last night. The other picture is the pub we stopped at for dinner.
Rob went kite surfing this morning, really big waves out there. Tons of wind and rain off and on. Lilla and Lucy adn I got out at a village called Castlemartin and walked to teh beach. It was really nice. I am not sure what we'll do this afternoon. It is really raining hard here!! Right now I am sitting in the front room listening to cricket on the TV. Really a bore!! Its the nearest plug in for my computer so here I sit. Blech!
There will be more adventure to come it sounds like. We have access to all sorts of toys here. So who knows what will happen!!
I am hoping to go to the castle today. Pembroke Castle is really cool looking. And pretty cheap to get into as well! Rob has to drop off a motor for a boat into town so I asked if they would take me in with them and drop me off for some sight seeing.
No point playing on the water in the pouring rain...oh! But we will be! Yeah!
Have I mentioned how sick I am of English weather!! Its really driving me crazy!! Time to head back to warmer climates! And by the time I get back to the US it will be fall/winter so I will have missed a warm summer again! Must do something about that!!
Seriously!!
