Fire Fighting is really hard work

I am so tired. I am not going to use the word awesome. Its a challenge to type at this moment.

today we had classroom time where we learned about fires and what causes them and what it takes to put them out. And then BOOM we went and put out fires. Oh man!
the first drill was with a CO2 extinguisher on a mechanical room fire and that was okay. Then we got outfitted in total head to toe gear. Including an airpack. we learned to use the fire hose and then we went in in teams and put out a fire in teh galley.

So imagine what its like...we have to stay low, which is like 9 minutes of squats (and believe me you do not want to stand up!) then you have an air mask on and I am not really crazy about my air mask on my face and so I'm trying to remain calm and remember what I'm supposed to yell and how to hold the nosle. all while a raging fire is in front of me. Oh man! It was really tough! The air mask thing was terrifying. I will never sign up for firefighting :) I don't mind the fire but the mask was really not my thing!
Tomorrow we do more of the same. We suit up on the sound of the alarm and then head in in teams of 2 to fight a fire in the engine room. Its going to be tough! I hope I can manage it. The guys teaching the class know I am related to Cory too so they joke that I get extra tough fires to put out!
I had dinner with my cousins Kyle and Rachel and that was really fun. They have the cutest little boys! So much fun! Any family reading this, you should see Kyle. He has lost so much weight!

So, I need to study. I don't want to fail this test adn have to redo it another time. Ugh!!

I didn't take my camera down to the mock up so I will try tomorrow to do that. When we are all suited up its harder to run around and snap a photo here and there. Supposed to be cooler tomorrow thank goodness. We are in full turn outs in the 90 degree heat. Hot!!!
